Ageless Brain is a kind of supplement known as a nootropic supplement and developed by the company called Organixx, who offer a variety of health focused supplements. I’ve tested the product and also had a look at what it claims to do, the science behind it and examined the dosages too.

It uses a special blend of organic ingredients which are known for their cognitive benefits [1,2]. One thing I was interested in is whether they are present in effective amounts. I was also looking to conclude whether Ageless Brain is the best choice out there, as there are others available which may also be more cost effective.

Ageless Brain: My review of the claims made by Nootropic:

Ageless Brain is a supplement made by Oragnixx and it’s designed to support cognitive health using natural ingredients. It claims to do a few things and offer some clear health benefits. These include to help maintain a healthy brain inflammation levels, nurture the growth of new brain cells and also protect neurons in your brain, which I have read helps to boost your memory. The product includes 700mg of a special blend of organic botanical ingredients. These are Camu Camu powder, Cat’s Claw powder, Bacopa Monnieri powder and others that are sourced from the Amazon rainforest. There have been some studies on the potential cognitive benefits of these specific ingredients, it’s hard to understand how effective Ageless Brain really is as the amounts of each ingredient are not specified by the manufacturer. I found from my research that an ingredient like Bacopa Monnieri can be effective but there needs to be a specific dose present  [3,4]. As there’s no transparency in ingredient quantities, it’s tough to properly evaluate the true effectiveness of the supplement. True, the product is non-GMO and is also tested by a third party for contaminants, I would recommend looking at alternative options where they tell you the formulation and dosages with more clarity.

Scientific research findings of the product’s claims:

Ageless Brain is a supplement which contains a combination of 8 botanical ingredients. These aim to help nurture cognitive health in various ways. Through the research I’ve done, I can give a scientific assessment of what it’s claiming to do based on what I’ve found out about it’s ingredients, and existing research in this area:

1. It helps to maintain healthy levels of inflammation in the brain:

Ageless Brain contains several ingredients which help to support this, these are Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) and Bacopa Monnieri. Both of these have been studied for their anti-inflammatory properties. Firstly, Cat's Claw has shown some potential in reducing inflammation due to its oxindole alkaloids [5]. Secondly, Bacopa Monnieri is known for its neuroprotective effects and ability to modulate inflammatory pathways [6]. However, as I have mentioned earlier in my review, the dosage needs to be right and at an effective level to be confident that there is some effect. I’ve researched this, and for example, it seems that an effective dose will be from 300mg to 450mg per day for Bacopa Monnieri  [7]. Given that the total dose of Ageless Brain is 700mg for all ingredients combined, this claim may not be met as there may not be enough of the key ingredients.

2. Encourages new brain cell growth

I’ve found out that Bacopa Monnieri has been associated with promoting neurogenesis in animal studies [8]. Neurogenesis is the growth and development of nervous tissue (so brain cells basically). It’s active compounds, bacosides, are thought to support the growth of nerve endings, enhancing neuronal communication. Yet, most studies use standardized extracts at specific dosages, and the unspecified amounts in the blend may limit its efficacy. So this is a re-occurring question for Ageless Brain. As you don’t know how much of each ingredient exists in the 700mg dose, its hard to say if its effective. My hypothesis is that it contains a lot of ingredients, but all at very very low levels.

3. Supports healthy neurons for better memory power

My research on Bacopa Monnieri indicates that it does support improvements in memory and cognitive functions [9]. I found that in clinical trials, participants taking standardized extracts showed enhanced memory recall. Again, effective dosages are crucial, and it's unclear if Ageless Brain provides sufficient amounts of these. Again, a re-occurring question mark over dosage levels.

4. Protects the brain from free radical damage

I’ve found that ingredients like Camu Camu is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants [10]. I’ve also found that Cocoa Powder contains something called flavonoids [11]. These are known to combat oxidative stress. So, these “antioxidants” neutralize free radicals and therefore help to potentially protect brain cells. However, again, this all depends on the quantities present which again, as you know, are not specified by Ageless Brain.

5. Aids healthy blood flow & oxygen levels

My research shows that Cocoa flavonoids have been shown to improve cerebral blood flow [12] and Cinnamon may also have vasodilatory effects [13]. These effects could support oxygen delivery to brain tissues if the product contains the right amounts in the dosage. As with all of these potential claims, it’s difficult to assess without knowing how much the product contains.

6. Promotes a calm, focused mind & balanced moods

Whilst this is quite a broad claim, items like Guayusa Tea contains caffeine and L-theanine, which may enhance focus and promote calmness [14]. My research also shows that Bacopa Monnieri has also been studied for its anxiolytic effects [15]. The combined effects of these ingredients could support this claim, but dosage levels as with all of these, are the key concern. Is there enough of it present in the product.

As you can read, these are all decent ingredients for a product like this. However, the dosage levels are the key factor in whether the product can support these benefits or not. Ageless Brain is marketed as an 8 in 1 complete brain health supplement with organic and wild sourced botanicals. It’s a 700mg dose so the amount is spread across eight ingredients, so the amount of each cannot be confirmed or compared directly with the studies. If the product was transparent in it’s ingredient amounts, this would help me to evaluate it’s potential benefits more accurately.

Testing experience

Organixx Ageless Brain bottle

Overall, I would say that my experience with Ageless Brain was not really satisfying. My expectations were high from their marketing, and especially so due to the 8 organic ingredients that the product contains. The problem for me is whether they are truly effective as they are all crammed into a 700mg dose. The ingredients, on paper are good, the supplement combines Camu Camu Powder, Cat's Claw Powder, and Bacopa Monnieri Powder. I was hopeful about the claims of a better memory and a calm and focused mind. My research showed that Bacopa Monnieri has some benefits for improving memory and cognitive functions [16]. However, the studies show you need a dose of between 300 and 450mg per day. [17]. Given that Ageless Brain's entire blend is 700 mg shared among eight ingredients, it is unclear whether each component matches an amount studied for cognitive effects. When I trialled the product, I didn’t really notice any improvement in mental focus or memory.

Ageless Brain also claims that it will help protect against free radical damage, presumably due to the anti-oxidant properties of Camu Camu. This is because Camu Camu is rich in Vitamin C  [18]. However, as I’ve mentioned before it’s hard to know whether there is an effect as you don’t know how much it contains in the 700mg dose that is provided. As you will see, this is a re-occurring theme. Ageless Brain also claims to aid healthy blood flow and Oxygen levels. This is possibly attributed to Cocoa Powder's flavonoids known to improve vascular function [19]. Again, the unspecified dosages make it challenging to assess the real impact of this product and is again where the issue is. I appreciate that the product uses wild-sourced and organic botanicals, is non-GMO, and contains no artificial additives. However, the lack of clarity regarding ingredient amounts is a significant concern. My research into this area found that ingredients like Dragon's Blood Resin Extract and Pau d'Arco have traditional uses for their anti-inflammatory properties [20,21], but scientific evidence supporting cognitive benefits is pretty limited in fact so it’s hard for me to conclude. I also felt that the promise of the product nurturing and encouraging the growth of new brain cells was also pretty ambitious. In the research I did, I found that some studies suggested that compounds that are found in Cat's Claw may promote neurogenesis [22], but research in the human body is still limited, and a firm conclusion on the level of dosage required for it to be really effective is not really well established so far.

For maintaining healthy brain inflammation levels, my research also suggested that Cinnamon is capable of having some anti-inflammatory effects [23,24,25]. However, again the effective doses in studies cannot be compared directly with the undisclosed individual amounts in the total 700mg dose.

In simple terms, my conclusion is that Organixx Ageless Brain did not deliver on it’s promises. I tried the product and my experience was disappointing. I didn’t experience any of the cognitive and mood enhancements that I anticipated. The potential benefits of the ingredients are pretty clear, but the lack of dosage transparency makes it very difficult to say whether this product is effective or not.

Organixx Ageless Brain Ingredients: A Scientific Overview

Organixx Ageless Brain features a blend of eight botanical ingredients and is marketed for cognitive enhancement. Having evaluated the scientific evidence behind these components, I can say that it does reveal some concerns regarding whether the dosage is sufficient to be effective. On top, Organixx are not transparent on this in what they are saying about the product’s formulation.

Bacopa Monnieri is one of the most researched nootropics. My research showed that clinical trials have shown that standardized extracts can improve memory and cognitive function at doses of 300 mg to 450 mg per day [26,27]. Since Ageless Brain's proprietary blend totals 700 mg for all eight ingredients, the amount of Bacopa Monnieri cannot be compared directly with the doses observed in these studies.

Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) has been studied for its neuroprotective properties due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects [28]. However, most research is pre-clinical, and human studies are still very limited. Effective dosages for cognitive benefits have not been established.

Camu Camu is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants [29], which may support general health, but direct evidence linking it to cognitive enhancement is sparse at best. High doses might be necessary to achieve significant effects, which may not be provided in this supplement for the reasons I’ve already explained.

Cinnamon has been investigated for its potential to improve cognitive processing [30]. Some studies suggest that cinnamon can enhance attention and working memory, but doses used are typically around 2 grams per day or more, which is way higher than what is likely to be present in the product as the total product is only 700mg for all 8 ingredients.

Pau d'Arco (Tabebuia avellanedae) possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties [31], yet there is little evidence supporting its role as a nootropic. Appropriate dosages for cognitive benefits remain un-defined.

Cocoa Powder contains flavonoids that can improve cerebral blood flow and cognitive function [32]. My research indicates that consuming 500 mg to 900 mg of cocoa flavonoids daily may yield benefits, but the cocoa amount in Ageless Brain is undisclosed, so I cannot establish whether it matches those studies.

Dragon's Blood Resin Extract is traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory properties [33]. My research showed that scientific studies on its cognitive effects are pretty minimal, and effective dosages are not well-established.

Guayusa Tea contains caffeine and L-theanine, which can enhance alertness and reduce mental fatigue [34]. The cognitive effects depend on the amount consumed; without dosage information, assessing its impact is challenging to say the least.

As I’ve said throughout my review, there are some interesting ingredients here but the main issue is that Ageless Brain is not transparent on how much of each is contained in the 700mg dose, so it’s impossible to say whether it is effective. I’ve found that most cognitive benefits are dose-dependent, and insufficient quantities may render the ingredients ineffective. Some ingredients in Ageless Brain have demonstrated nootropic effects in research settings, but the undisclosed dosages raise questions about the product's effectiveness on a human in the real world.

My overall results and recommendations for Organixx Ageless Brain:

Ageless Brain

39%

Overall Rating

Minimal cognitive benefits: When I tried the product, the improvements in memory and focus that I experienced were really limited, if at all. So I would say the supplement’s effectiveness may be insufficient.

Unclear dosages of key ingredients: The major point running through my whole review is that the total of 700 mg for all eight ingredients does not reveal the amount of each individual ingredient.

Lack of ingredient transparency: As the product does not disclose individual dosages, it really does prevent any understanding of the exact quantity of each ingredient. This makes it very hard to assess the efficacy of the product.

My recommendation: I would recommend you try ThinkEase as an alternative. It has a comprehensive formulation and provides the amount of each active ingredient.

Organixx Ageless Brian: My overall verdict:

After thoroughly testing and evaluating Ageless Brain, my overall conclusion is that the supplement has several shortcomings. The main issue is the lack of transparency regarding the individual dosages of each of the 8 ingredients. The total blend is 700mg which is shared between all 8 so the total does not establish the amount of each individual ingredient. This raises concerns about the supplement's ability to deliver the promised cognitive benefits. When I tried the product, I did not notice any significant improvement in memory, focus or mental clarity. It contains ingredients like Bacopa Monnieri and Cat’s Claw which have been researched, although human evidence is much stronger for Bacopa than for Cat’s Claw [46,47]. However, the individual amounts in Ageless Brain cannot be compared directly with those studies.

ThinkEase supplement bottle

In contrast, ThinkEase provides clear information about its ingredients and their dosages, allowing them to be compared with scientific research. For instance, it contains 300 mg of Bacopa Monnieri, standardized to 50% bacosides. Additionally, ThinkEase includes 275 mg of N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine. ThinkEase’s formula also features L-Theanine at 200 mg. The inclusion of Citicoline at 250 mg adds another researched ingredient. Overall, I find ThinkEase a much better choice for ingredient transparency. ThinkEase is transparent about what it really contains. That is the basis for this recommendation; it is not a claim that I have repeated my Ageless Brain test with ThinkEase.
